I grew up all over and like to say I’m from everywhere and nowhere! I’m a military brat that has found home here in Washington State. With an older brother, I grew up very much a “tomboy” and believe my active competitive nature has a lot to do with that. Getting serious with volleyball in high school is what sparked my love for training and lifting weights. I had an amazing coach (HEY, Coach Hilgar!) that pushed me to my absolute limit and saw potential in me before I recognized it. I was definitely lucky to have a coach that believed in weight training - not only for strength/conditioning but also to prevent injury. All I gotta say is—Coach Hilgar, thanks for showing this girl the weight room! I’m forever grateful.
When it was time for me to go to college in 2006 (Go Huskies!), working full-time and being a student full-time, I was very absent from the gym. With the exception of playing in indoor vball leagues and staying out all day during the summers playing doubles grass, I didn’t do much lifting. I pretty much lived off black coffee and Red Bull.
In 2012, I decided to leave the corporate world and move overseas to take up a teaching opportunity. During this time, I took back to lifting regularly. I was in a different country with nothing but work and gym time! At that point I was offered my first job as a personal trainer and spent the next few years teaching English, training, and coaching.
In 2014 I was relocated to a new teaching job and in search of a new gym home. I found a hole in the wall spot... INSERT—the world of bodybuilding. I completely fell in love with it and there was pretty much no going back at this point. Long story short, in 2014 I did my first bikini competition in South Korea, moved back to the US, got my NASM CPT, worked full time at “the big gyms”, re-entered corporate America, left, and have been training and coaching ever since! Currently, I compete in NPC as a bikini competitor and have had the honor of winning the overall placement at the Tanji Johnson Classic, WA State Open, and UBU Phoenix Europa shows.
I have been blessed to coach a wide variety of clients who have trusted me in their journeys throughout the years. Whether it was coaching for someone who simply wanted to be pushed, general weight loss, overcoming Type 2 Diabetes medication, senior clients with disabilities, a lifestyle change after bariatric surgery, moms trying to find balance in their lives-- we are ALL in the same boat regardless of our starting points. We are all trying to live healthier and better lifestyles. It IS possible no matter what your life circumstance. It is amazing to see the positive change people have made in their lives and a blessing to be a part of the journey.
Fast forward to the present—Jordan and I reside in Edmonds, Washington with our 3.5 year old son.
Our goal as your coaches is to give you the tools to make this a long-term, sustainable, healthy lifestyle and NOT just a quick-fix diet. Jordan and I truly love the relationships that have been built over the years and would love to connect with you! By the grace of God and a lot of hard work—anything is possible!
